Final-year students of St Paul’s Senior High School at Denu in the Volta Region are returning to School following the temporary closure of the school almost a month ago after riots.

The closure came on the back of riots by students following an attempt to lynch two of their colleagues who they suspected of being gays.

The two students were arrested to assist in investigations into the riots and were later released.

Spokesperson for the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur told Starr News although the two have been released, they will have to report to the police on daily basis until investigations into the matter are over.

During the riots, a stray bullet fired by a Police Officer hit a first-year student in the head killing him instantly.

School authorities say they are allowing the final-year students to return first to continue their studies ahead of their final examination. The other students will eventually be allowed back on campus with time.
