Star Assurance Company donates to Asanteman

Kumasi, May 21, GNA - Star Assurance Company Limited on Friday donated a cheque for 20 million cedis to support the Asanteman 'Adae Kese' and the fifth anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Presenting the cheque in Kumasi, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, said the company had followed with keen interest the untiring efforts of the Asantehene to ensure unity and development not only in Asanteman, but also in Ghana as a whole. He said Otumfuo Osei Tutu had skilfully blended culture and tradition with modernity, thereby making the chieftaincy institution more relevant and a force for progress.

Dr Duffuor hoped the Asantehene would continue to be a guide in the nation's quest for creativity, authenticity, workability and progress in political living. Oheneba Adusei Poku, Akyempimhene, who received the cheque on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, thanked the company for the gesture. He said the financial assistance would go a long way to support the numerous projects, which had been initiated by the Asantehene to improve the standard of living of the people in Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.
