Kade, E/R, March 7, 2007, GNA - Mr. Yaw Yiadom Boakye, Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive has stressed the need for the youth in this country and Africa to stay at home and use their energies for the socio-economic and political development of their nations. Mr. Yiadom Boakye made this call when delivering the President's message at the 50th Anniversary celebration of the country's independence on Tuesday at Kade.
He said what the youth could achieve in t heir countries, would be far more fulfilling and satisfying than anything they could do elsewhere in the world, adding that the continent of Africa now provides a quicker avenue to success financially and emotionally than anywhere else. Mr. Yiadom Boakye said the future of the continent belongs to the youth as their heritage and it is over to them to stay and be part of building the well-governed, economically vibrant nations everybody expected to see.
He commended all young people who bring honour and joy to Africa's image through information technology, finance, sports, fashion, music, dance and other fields.
He entreated the people to pay tribute to past leaders and ancestors, especially 93our fallen heroes who fought to achieve independence for this country."
Osabaarima Atwere Bediako II, Oseawuohene and Chief of Akim Wenchi commended all the people in the country for their great dedication and joy with which they welcomed the celebration and participated in it. He urged them to continue with the same spirit in subsequent celebrations in the years ahead.
Osabarima Atwere Bediako said; 93our forefathers and ancestors have left behind good legacies and footprints of great successes and achievements and therefore this generation should help maintain and sustain them."
Barima Agyare Tenadu II, Kadehene also advised the people to take a cue from the President's message and see how best they could adhere to it to move the district and the nation forward.
Mr. Ofosu Asamoah, Member of Parliament for the Kade Constituency advised the people to think of what the ancestors left behind for the people of today and urged them to lead lives worthy of emulation by future generations. 17 March 07
