Bolgatanga, Nov. 26, GNA - The Upper East Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr Anderson Anafo-Nabia, has called on District and Zonal staff of the organisation to collaborate with traditional rulers, unit committees and assembly members to intensify their educational campaign on bushfires.
This, he said, would help save the economic trees, such as dawadawa and sheanut trees, as well as other resources for socio-economic development.
Mr Anafo-Nabia said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga.
He said with the dry season setting in, there was the need for NADMO to mount educational campaign in the rural communities to help prevent bushfires from occurring.
Mr Anafo-Nabia appealed to NGOs and religious bodies to assist NADMO to organise public lectures on the HIV/AIDS menace, especially at the district and zonal levels.
