Nkoranza (B/A), July 20, GNA – Members of Nkoranza Students Union have planted more than 800 cidella tree seedlings along the boundaries of Nkoranza Senior High School and Nkoranza Technical Institute.

The Nkoranza Traditional Council has released about 640 acres of land for the future development of the two educational institutions.

Mr. Augustine Kyeremeh, President of the Union, told the Ghana News Agency that the exercise was part of activities planned by the Union during the vacation.

He thanked Mr. Stephen Twumasi, an old student of the school, for providing the seedlings for the exercise.

Mr Kyeremeh said the students were organizing vacation classes for the immediate past Junior and Senior High School students as well as private candidates who would take the Private West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The student body has also planned to visit the communities to sensitize parents to support their children’s education so they could become responsible future leaders.

Nana Fosua Rachel, Headmistress of Nkoranza SHS, commended the students for their concern and commitment and called on students of the two schools to emulate them.

Mr. Albert Adusei, Principal of Nkoranza Technical Institute, expressed appreciation for the efforts of some of the old students for accepting postings to the school.
