Atebubu (B/A), Nov.8, GNA - Nana Owusu Mensah Atoobu II, sub-chief of Pewuako in the Nkoranza district had pledged to release land for investors in the area.
Nana Atoobu who is also the Asaasewura (Land-owner) of Atebubu Traditional Area made the pledge at a meeting with chiefs and elders of Pewuako during the celebration of their annual "Foryaw" yam festival. He said lack of economic ventures within the Nkoranza district had deprived the people especially the youth of gainful employment, adding; "The establishment of economic ventures in the area would reduce unemployment."
Nana Atoobu said revenue to be realised from the land would be used to provide social amenities and a palace.
He announced that the traditional council had initiated measures to document historical events at Pewuako to help the youth become acquainted with their history.
Nana Owusu Achiaw-Birimpong II, Omanhene of Atebubu said the main focus of the traditional council were improvement in education and provision of quality health care delivery.
He said last year it instituted an educational endowment fund to support needy but brilliant school children.
"The council has also been actively involved in public education on the need for people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)," He added.
