For this reason, over 40 % of the the Assembly’s budget for this year has been allocated to education to enhance the infrastructural base as well as providing incentive packages to teachers. He said in order to generate interest in science education especially for the girl-child, more resource centres will be constructed to enable students have access to science resource centres.

The Chief Executive also hinted that even though the assembly’s revenue target for the year 2003 was 1.7 million cedis, they have already bagged around 2billion cedis. Mr. Baffour Awuah, however, thinks that there is still room for improvement.
