Sunyani, March 2, GNA - About 2,000 school children, members of the security services and voluntary organizations completed a two-day rehearsal parade in Sunyani on Wednesday in preparation for the 48th Independence Day Anniversary celebration on Sunday, March 6. A joint military and police band were in attendance.
Mrs Mary Quarcoo, Culture Co-ordinator of Sunyani municipal directorate of the Ghana Education Service told Ghana News Agency after the parade that, institutions that would excel during the march past, would take an excursion to the military Liberation barracks in Sunyani. She said selected school children, who would perform better at the march past would have the chance to attend the President's party at Fiapre, near Sunyani on Monday, March 7.
Mrs Quarcoo commended the school children, the security services and the voluntary organizations for their impressive turnout during the rehearsals. 2 March 2005
