Support government's sound economic policies - Gambila

Tepa (Ash), Aug 23, GNA - Mr Boniface Gambila, the Upper East Regional Minister, has called for support for the sound economic policies being pursued by the government to quicken the pace of development.

He said but for the stability of the currency, the efficient operations at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Petroleum Deregulatory Policy the effect of the increasing price of crude oil on the world market would have been disastrous for the country.

Mr Gambila was speaking at a durbar organised by the Tepa Traditional Council and the Christian Mothers Association in honour of Mr Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh on his appointment as the District Chief Executive for Ahafo-Ano North at Tepa on Sunday Mr Gambila was the special guest of honour.

He advised Upper East citizens in the area to be law-abiding and respect the tradition and customary practices in the area. Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, Omanhene of Tepa, said the responsibility entrusted to the DCE was enormous and urged the people to co-operate with him and offer constructive suggestions.

He cautioned public servants in the district who write anonymous letters to discredit people to stop it, describing such acts as dangerous and that they could bring about hatred, suspicion and fear. The DCE expressed his appreciation to the traditional council, the Christian Mothers Association and the people for the honour done him and told them to constantly draw his attention to his shortcomings but not wait until the harm had been done before criticising him.
