Mr Daniel Yeboah-Hienno, Brong-Ahafo Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools, has called on parents to provide the needed support the education of their children.

He said since the establishment of the Presbyterian School in Akropong in 1848, the Presbyterian Church had chalked an enviable record as the church with the leading number of schools in the country.

Mr Yeboah-Hienno said this at a dedication of Grace Presbyterian Congregation Preparatory Junior High School building project at Wamanafo in the Dormaa East District of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The project comprises three classrooms and an office.

Mr Yeboah-Hienno commended the members of Wamanafo Grace Congregation for raising the needed funds for the construction of the school.

Reverend Stephen Kwarteng, the Pastor in Charge and Headmaster of the School, said the development of the school was to ensure that more children were admitted from surrounding communities.

Reverend Kwarteng said the School started with only 15 pupils in 2003 and two teachers but currently it has a pupil population of 381, comprising 189 boys and 192 girls with 13 non-teaching staff.

Mr Frank Kumi, the District Chief Executive of Dormaa East, expressed the preparedness of the Assembly to support the school through the District Assembly’s Common Fund (DACF).

Reverend Sene Fei Hyeaman, the West Brong Presbytery Chairman, assured the School Management that competent teachers would be posted to the School to help improve academic performance.
