Agyiriganor, April 13, GNA -- The Environmental Health Division of the Tema Municipal Assembly will soon start going round the municipality to check developers who build houses without places of convenience even though it is included in their plans.

Mr Samuel Ablade, the Municipal Sanitary Engineer, said the move is to ensure that approved plans of developers are adhered to and to promote household toilets to reduce the pressure on public toilets. He was speaking at the commissioning of a 150 million- cedi Enviro Loo Toilet facility at Agyiriganor, near Adenta in the Greater Accra Region.

Mr Ablade expressed regrets about the indiscriminate disposal of refuse in the municipality and called for a halt to the practice. Mr Kwadjo Opare Hammond, the Member of Parliament for the Adenta who commissioned the facility, assured the people of his preparedness to ensure that all his campaign promises are fulfilled.

Mr Hammond said he has already initiated an Academic Improvement Programme in the area to help children who are preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination to get good grades. As part of the programme he sponsored 600 students in eight public schools to write a mock examination.
