TNMA donates motor bikes to Assembly members

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, (TNMA) Hon Gilbert Ken Asmah on Thursday, May, 30th 2019 handed over 45 motorbikes and crash helmets to Assembly members in the Municipality.

"The donation is in fulfillment of His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo's led New Patriotic Party government's pledge to enhance and sustain the local government process through rapid monitoring and evaluation of projects.

The Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE hinted that, the move forms part of the numerous steps by the government to accelerate the pace of work and operations of Assembly members in their respective electoral areas.

He explained, that his outfit took delivery of the motorbikes from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) for onward distribution to Assembly members to facilitate their work particularly in remote areas, he noted.

Hon Gilbert Asmah further commended the members of the Assembly for their patience and cooperation and urged them not to use the bikes for their parochial interests but to work assiduously for in the interest of the inhabitants to achieve the desired decentralization goal for the larger interest of all, he said. He advised the Assembly members to handle the bikes with the utmost care and ensure that they are routinely maintained, urging them to adhere to traffic regulations at all times.

Hon Benjamin Kessie, Presiding for the Municipality, who received the bikes on behalf of the Assembly members said work in many communities of the Municipality would be attended to with ease because members would be able to comb all corners to interact with their people and also inspect the various projects under construction by the Municipal Assembly

This he said would also help in giving value for the various projects under construction.
