Bekwai (Ash.), July 20, GNA - Small-Scale business operators have been advised to take advantage of the Business Advisory Centres (BACs) to promote good management practices and enhance the viability of their enterprises.

Mr Richard Aboagye, Amansie East District Chief Executive, who gave the advice, noted that the BACs were there just for the purpose of assisting businesses to grow.

He was addressing a passing out ceremony held for 30 apprentice hairdressers at Bekwai.

Mr Aboagye said the private sector held a lot of promise for the country's economic development and would therefore be given every support and push by the government.

He said the District Assembly had opened its' doors and asked operators in the sector not to hesitate to approach the Assembly to discuss solutions to problems inhibiting their growth.

The District Chief Executive told the trainees to follow instructions on chemicals they apply to the hair of their customers to help prevent accidents.

They should also wear hand gloves so as not to either contract or infect customers with the deadly HIV/AIDS disease.

Ms Hannah Agyei, Acting President of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association, said the association would provide guidance and assistance to help them find their feet.
