Nana Kojo Adansi II, Paramount Chief of Takoradi Traditional Area, on Monday called for peace and unity among his people in the interest of the area's development.

He said the days of wrangling and unwarranted conflicts were over as his enstoolment marked a turning point in the Takoradi/Whindo Traditional Area.

Nana Kojo Adansi II of the Akona-Paado clan, was enstooled over the weekend with the consent and supervision of a delegation appointed by Otumfuo Baidoo Bonsu, Ahantahene.

The Akobea Number One Asafo Company, led by Asafo Korampong, administered the formal swearing-in; it is recognised by the Ahanta tradition as the legitimate body with the power to enstool and destool chiefs.

The stool was vacant for 30 years following the death of Nana Kojo Adansi I.

The chief noted that it would take the inhabitants of Takoradi to develop the area and therefore called on them to rally behind him in bringing change and development to the area.

On the upcoming general election, he appealed to his people to cast their votes in peace and avoid behaviours that had the tendency to mar the exercise or impede the country's democratic development.**
