The people of Tatale and surrounding communities would no longer compete with animals for water in dams and ponds following the inauguration of Tatale and Kuyoli small town water projects.
The inauguration would also reduce the number of long queues that were seen at various bore-holes in the township and beyond.
Mr Nicholas N. Waake, District Chief Executive of the Tatale-Sangule, who announced this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra said the project was a collaboration between the governments of Ghana and Canada.
He said before the water projects, the growing population of the Tatale township depended on few boreholes for drinking water, while the water from dams and ponds was also used for washing and other household chores, thereby creating a competition between them and animals.
"I wish to extend our appreciation to the Canadian government for funding the project and to welcome the representative of the government of Canada-Anika Desmeules Raggio for their tremendous contributions."
Mr Waake told the GNA that apart from providing sufficient water for the people of the area, the water project would also protect people against water-borne diseases and gave the assurance that he would work hard to extend the projects to other communities in the District.
He added: "The project has not only provided safe drinking water to the people, but also provided a sanitation package that will improve the sanitary conditions of the people."
The District Chief Executive said under the "Better Ghana Agenda", Takorodo and Mbolado communities had been connected to the National grid as part of the government's rural electrification policy.
He said the Assembly had among other school projects, established the Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills(ICCES) to train youth with employable skills to establish their own businesses.
Mr Waake said as a new district, his outfit would continue to explore means of providing basic amenities and called on all development partners to support them to achieve that feat.
