Takoradi, Jan. 4, GNA - Some taxi drivers in the Shama-Ahanta East Metropolis have complained about low patronage of their services by the public.
The drivers told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that patronage of their services during Christmas, New Year and Eid Ul-Adha were particularly low.
Mr. Lewis Asmah, a taxi driver, said many taxi drivers were unable to meet their daily revenue targets and the situation was worse during the Christmas, New Year and Eid Ul-Adha festivities.
He said some taxi drivers made daily revenue of 100,000 cedis and spent more than that amount on fuel.
Mr. Asmah said sometimes drivers had to top up their sales with their "Chop money" in order to avoid the wrath of their bosses.
Mr. Kofie Asamoah, a taxi driver, alleged that fuel bought at filling stations did not last long and urged the authorities to help ensure fair dealing at the filling stations.
