Mr Charles Yaw Assuah-Yeboah, Atwima-Mponua District Director of Education, has advised all teachers in the district to wear decent dresses to enhance their professional image.
He said skimpy and skinny dresses worn by both males and females excited sexual desires and needed to be done away with.
Mr Assuah-Yeboah, posted to the district recently, was addressing officers of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and head teachers at his maiden meeting held at Nyinahin.
He said disciplined teachers who served as role models to the children they taught, had always been known for their modest dressing and performances in the classroom.
Mr Assuah-Yeboah warned teachers and other staff that he would not countenance lateness, drunkenness, absenteeism and rumour-mongering.
Circuit supervisors were also advised to visit their circuits to monitor the activities of head teachers and teachers to ensure proper teaching and learning.
Mr Assuah-Yeboah called for absolute discipline, corporation and love within the rank and file of the teaching profession and assured that special awards and incentives would be presented to those who would accept postings to the rural areas.
He said his doors were opened for constructive criticisms.
