A classroom has been turned into mini bedrooms to accommodate four teachers of the New Edubiase Senior High School (SHS) in the Ashanti region.

Headmistress of the school, Doris Appiah, said that accommodation for teachers of the school had been a major challenge of the school for sometime.

Madam Appiah passionately appealed to government to assist them.

According to her, the lack of teachers’ bungalow had also affected academic work since the teachers, who are supposed to ensure discipline among the students, live outside the campus.

Madam Appiah said as part of measures to address the problem, the school’s management turned some classrooms into mini rooms for four teachers to help boost discipline and academic performance of the students.

The headmistress disclosed this when the 1977 Year Group of old students of the school donated 100 bags of cement, sand, gravel and other building materials worth over GH¢10,000 to facilitate the construction of a new science block in the school.

Madam Appiah noted that some teachers cover several kilometers in order to get to school on a daily basis, adding that the school also needs an administration block and a spacious assembly hall to accommodate over 1000 students.

Brigadier General Joseph Adu Boampong, who led the delegation to present the items, said the donation formed part of efforts by the old students to improve infrastructure in the school.

He reiterated the commitment of the 1977 Year Group to offer assistance to help boost academic work and discipline among the students.

In a related development, Andrews Sarpong, CEO of Andysarp Furniture, who is also an old student, presented two swivel chairs, executive office table, two conference tables and other items to the school, promising make more donations in the near future.
