Techiman (B/A), Sept. 3, GNA - The Techiman Municipal Assembly is to spend GH¢600,000 from its District Development Fund (DDF) to enhance infrastructural development in the area.

The projects to be developed include health and educational facilities as well as construction of roads in the Municipality.

Mr Alex Kofi Kyeremeh, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, announced this on Thursday said when he addressed Assembly heads at the third quarterly meeting in Techiman.

He expressed disgust about the failure of some heads to present quarterly reports and to attend Assembly sittings.

Mr Kyeremeh charged heads of department to prepare their quarterly reports promptly in order to aid in the effective planning of the medium term development plan the Assembly.

Alhaji Hafiz Adam, Municipal Coordinating Director, therefore, asked the heads to be pro-active in their duties and not to dabble in politics.

He said it was necessary for them to obtain the manifestoes of the ruling party as well as the other political parties to become abreast with their agenda.

"It is not an offence for you to obtain the manifestos since it is just like a religious person not having the religious doctrine as a guide", he said.

Alhaji Adam also reminded the heads of upcoming national activities such as the Population and Housing Census, the Farmers Day, the District level elections and the National Identification Exercise and appealed to them to help to educate the populace about their importance.

Mr Cosmas Yanoore, Municipal Finance Officer, urged the heads to be transparent in their operations to complement the effort of the Assembly in the preparation of their financial estimates.
