Teenager holds congregation spellbound on cleanliness

Elmina, Feb.19, GNA - A teenager held the congregation at Elmina Methodist Church spellbound when she articulated reasons why Ghanaians must keep their communities tidy as their contribution towards Ghana's Golden Jubilee celebrations and promotion of tourism in the country.

Miss Eunice Bassaw 16, a class six pupil of Cape Coast University Primary School, said cleanliness was the fulcrum upon which increased volume of tourism would revolve and increase revenue for the country's socio-economic development especially when efforts were being made to diversify trade.

Speaking on hygiene to mark the National Sunday School Day of the Church, she said there was the need to make hygiene, a duty to be discharged especially where historic tourism sites such the castles and game parks were situated.

Miss Bassaw urged the youth to be obedient to their parents, guardians and work hard towards their future.

She appealed to parents to exercise control on their children to prevent them from going wayward and inculcate the fear of God in them. Miss Bassaw appealed to parents to contribute to the Sunday school Development Fund to enable it purchase more books for study. 19 Feb. 07
