Telecommunication Service Disrupted in Aowin-Suaman District.

Enchi, (W/R), Oct.18, GNA - The disruption of telecommunication service in the Aowin-Suaman district for the past three weeks, the cause, which is under investigation was causing a lot of inconvenience to the people.

As a result, the district has been cut-off from the rest of the country, seriously affecting economic and social activities in many commercial towns, including Dadieso, Boinso, Akontombra-Nkwanta, Jema, Yakese and Amonie.

Hundreds of people from other parts of the district, who travel everyday to Enchi, the District capital, to make calls, become disappointed because the few pay phones in the town were not functioning.

They either go back to their destinations or join long meandering queues at the local post office to be connected to their friends, relatives or business partners by telephone operators.

Spokespersons, Kwame Adomah and Afua Nyamekye appealed to Ghana Telecom to expedite action and also increase the number of pay phones at Enchi to give satisfactory service to customers.

An official of the Ghana Telecom, when contacted by the Ghana News Agency only said efforts were being made to rectify the situation.
