Tema MCE has performed creditably-National Watchdog

Tema, Aug 18,GNA-The National Watchdog, a Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Tuesday commended Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, for his excellent performance in the Metropolis.

Addressing a news conference in Tema, Mr Abdul-Razak Alhassan, Chairman of the group, said the Tema Mayor was the first in the history of the Metropolis to have roads in Tema asphalted.

Mr Alhassan catalogued as many as 84 development projects in Tema during the MCE’s tenure, and said 39 of them had so far been completed, whilst the rest were on-going.

The Chairman mentioned some of the completed projects as; the gravelling/re-gravelling of selected roads in the Kpone-Katamanso, the gravelling of Nii Afotey Agbo, Zeenu Agyenkwa, Zeenu Dam Site and the Zeenu St Emmanuel Roads, the re-sealing of selected roads in Tema East, the re-sealing of Maame Sekunde Road, and the drainage construction on Kpone Barrier-Michel Camp Road.

Others are; the construction of eight-seater international latrines for Michel Camp Primary, Zeenu TMA Primary; Zeenu TMA JHS; Otano TMA School; Garrison School; and the Redemption Valley School.

The rest are; the construction of a three classroom block with a four-unit toilet and urinal at Gonten, Canteen and Assembly Hall at Mexico school at Community Two, and a Library and ICT Centre at Community Eight.

Acknowledging the MCE’s excellent performance in his two years in office, the National Watchdog of the NDC, therefore, appealed to the National Executive Committee of the party to throw its weight behind him in his bid to contest the Tema East Parliamentary Seat, and capture it for the NDC, come December 2012.

They said through the MCE, the Better Ghana Agenda of the NDC was manifesting itself positively in the lives of residents of the Metropolis.
