Tema, July 19, GNA -- An Agricultural teacher of Tema Star Basic Junior Secondary School (JSS), Mr Mamson Aklikpe has decided to stop taking the students through the practical aspect of the subject because the community and footballers attend nature's call on the land for the purpose.
"I have resolved to stop teaching practical Agriculture because the community and footballers continue to use the school's plot on which I have raised beds and planted vegetables like okro, beans and maize, as their defecation point."
Mr Aklikpe stated his position at the general meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the school on Sunday and said some footballers of Tema based Ebony Football Club who use the school's park for their practice threatened to beat up any student who dared challenged them when caught attending nature's call on the beds.
He said, he personally confronted the footballers but they ignored him and continued with their threat and he reported the matter to their coach who promised to discipline them.
Some of the PTA members advised him to rescind the decision while the school authorities and the PTA executives found solution to the problem. In the interim the PTA chairman, Mr Seth Acheampong urged the security men to ensure strict supervision of the area to prevent intruders on the school's premises.
