Accra, April 12, GNA-Mr Martin Agyei-Kumi, Secretary of the Accra Number Four Branch of the Neoplan Drivers Union, has assured the travelling public that the union has enough vehicles to serve them during the Easter festivities.
He said travellers should not panic, since the Union did not anticipate queues at the lorry parks during the period. Mr Agyei-Kumi gave the assurance in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on preparations the Union had made towards the Easter.
He urged motorists to handle their vehicles with extra vigilance and care to ensure an accident-free Easter. In a related development, Mr Ben Amoabeng-Peprah, Greater-Accra Regional Chairman of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), told the GNA that the Association would ensure that members took road traffic educational programmes seriously to help bring accidents to the barest minimum.
Mr Amoabeng-Peprah said the nation could not afford to lose the cream of its youth who could make positive contributions towards nation building, through motor accidents.
While urging drivers to endeavour to observe traffic regulations, especially during Easter, he appealed to passengers to reciprocate the gesture of drivers, by according them the necessary respect so that they could give of their best.
