Abesewa (Ash), Aug 1, GNA - Three brothers who hail from Abesewa in the Ahafo-Ano South district of Ashanti and resident in the United States of America at the weekend presented 35 million cedis to the town for a water project.

The presentation was in fulfillment of a promise the brothers made during a fund-raising harvest in December last year through Mr. John Mensah, their father.

Presenting the money on behalf of his sons, Andy, Albert and Paul Mensah, Mr John Mensah said he had discussed and planned with his children the water problem facing the town even before Nana Subin Kankam Amenado II, chief of the town's appealed for support for the project. He said he saw the presentation of the money by his children as his social responsibility towards his hometown.

Nana Subin Kankam who received the money, commended the donors for their public spiritedness and asked the people to lend their full support to the project.

This they can do, he pointed out, by attending communal labour promptly and paying their contributions of 20,000 cedis a man and 10,000 cedis a woman to meet the 60 million cedis target for the project. Nana Subin Kankam called on citizens whose relatives were abroad to emulate the donors and contribute towards the development of the town.
