Three die in car accident near Winneba

Gyatekrom (C/R) Feb. 5 GNA - Three people including a three-year old girl died, one on the spot and the other two on arrival at the Winneba government Hospital when a Peugeot Caravan and an Urvan Bus on which they were travelling were involved in an accident at Gyatekrom near Winneba on Saturday.

An identification card on one of the dead identified him as George Kofie, an employee of Ghana Textile Print (GTP), while the others were yet to be identified.

Ten people, six males and four females who received various degree of injury have been admitted at the hospital.

Mrs. Bernadetta Puffah, Deputy Director of Nursing Services (DDNS) at the hospital and Mr. Larry Kumassah, the hospital Administrator, told newsmen that two women, one identified as madam Felecia Abena Kwakyewaa, who were in comma had been transferred to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

They mentioned some of those on admission at the hospital as Ebenezer Siaw, one of the two drivers, Emmanuel Baiden, an SSS two student of Mfantsipim Secondary School, Cape Coast, and Beatrice Awuni from Assin Praso.

The others were Grace Osumenyewo, a 24-year-old tutor of Assin North Secondary Technical, Mary Badzo, aged, 30 and Randolph Appiah, Kwabena Isakah, both from Assin Praso.
