Three died in accident around Jasikan

Jasikan (V/R), Sept. 25, GNA - Two men and a woman met their untimely death, when a taxi cab in which they were travelling from Jasikan to Hohoe, collided with a Benz cargo truck on the outskirts of Jasikan.

Janet Afezuke, a trader at Jasikan died on the spot, while Paul Atisei and Ben Sagba, both English tutors of Jasikan Training College, who were going to Hohoe to submit marked examination papers, to be forwarded to the University of Cape Coast, died moments after admission at the district hospital in Jasikan.

Mathias Tetteh, driver of the taxi cab number GW 8774 R fractured both thighs and was transferred to the Regional Hospital in Ho, while another female passenger and one of her two children sustained injuries and are in critical conditions at Jasikan district hospital. Adam Zibilla, driver of the Benz cargo truck Number AS 3365 D in his hospital bed, said he loaded plywood, paints, roofing sheets and 14 bicycles from Accra enroute to Bimbila, and was overtaken by two taxi cabs close to Jasikan.

One of the taxis suddenly stopped without signal and he veered to prevent running into it and in the process collided with the on-coming taxi cab.

The impact of the collision was devastating such that the taxi was reduced to a scrap and beyond repairs. 25 Sept. 08
