Three file nominations for Dormaa West NPP primaries

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), May 4, GNA - Three candidates in the Dormaa West Constituency, including the incumbent Member of Parliament, have filed their nominations to contest the parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) towards the December elections. They are Mr Atta Amponsa, the constituency chairman of the party, Mr Yaw Asiedu-Mensah, the incumbent MP and Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.

Mr Wilson Kwasi Damoah, a leading member of the party told the Ghana News Agency at Dormaa-Ahenkro that the primaries would come off in June.

He explained that vetting of the applicants would be "exclusively" done by the National Executive Committee members, who will give final approval to the applicants to contest the primaries. Mr Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive, who was present at the close of nominations, described the three aspirants as "giant members of the party".

He said each of them is qualified to lead the party in the constituency and called on the electorate to ensure peace during the primaries.
