Two brothers – James Opoku Jnr, 26; and Peter Twumasi, 20 – met their untimely death when they were crushed to death by a Mercedes Benz tipper truck with registration number BA 2328-15 at Nkoransa in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The Nkoransa Police Commander, DSP Joseph Twumasi, confirming the incident to The Finder, said the incident occurred on the Nkoransa-Sekyere-Odumasi road.
According to DSP Joseph Twumasi, James Opoku was riding a Sonya motorbike, with registration number M-15-AS 186, with Peter Twumasi sitting at the back, when they crushed into the tipper truck as the driver was negotiating to Sawmill, an area in Nkoransa.
He said the two sustained serious injuries after the crush and were rushed to the St. Theresa's Hospital, but they died later on.
Their bodies are currently at the St. Theresa's Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
The 39-year-old tipper truck driver, Kwame Asare, is currently in the grips of the Nkoransa Police to assist with investigations.
Father of the deceased, Mr James Opoku, said the death of his two sons is a big blow to the family.
"James was a mason while Peter was an electrician; in fact, their death would affect us as a family greatly; this is a big loss," Mr Opoku revealed.
