The Paramount Chief of the Tolon Traditional Area of the Dagbon, Retired Major Sulemana, will on Sunday, September 29, 2024, launch Tolon Radio 102.7, the first radio station in the area.

Several distinguished personalities, including the Northern Regional Minister, chiefs, opinion leaders, politicians, civil society groups, and youth groups, are expected to grace the occasion.

The radio was established by the Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu.

According to him, the radio station was built to resonate with the entire cultural, social, and economic aspirations of the people.

The newly established Tolon radio station will foster community participation by providing a platform for people in the area to share their opinions, contribute to discussion, and stay engaged with societal issues and global trends.

Tolon Radio 102.7, situated in the heart of Tolon, has a state-of-the-art ultramodern studio and a cutting-edge facility equipped with the latest technology to provide high-quality broadcasting.

The studio is equipped with the best digital consoles, transmitters, quality microphones, soundproof editing software, and live streaming gadgets for quality production, wider listenership, and coverage.

The General Manager of Tolon Radio, Mr. Halik Musah, hinted that the mission and vision of the station are in line with the aspirations of the people, adding that the radio station will prioritise the people in the area.

He emphasized that the radio station will bring innovative ideas to help in the development of the area.

"We will provide the best of education, information, and entertainment, but we will not compromise on proper journalistic practices and professionalism," he said.

Meanwhile, the management of the radio station has started recruiting some journalists within the media fraternity in the Northern Region.
