Tsi k arts and Sheeba Links, a food supplement company, has donated stationery worth GH? 1,000 to Small London District Assembly Primary School at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region.
The items which consist of pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, crayons and over 1000 exercise books, forms part of the company’s contribution to help promote teaching and learning in the country.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Eric Tsikata, the Chief Executive Officer of Tsi K arts and Sheeba Links, said the donation forms part of the company’s education project called “Tsi K Push Education” which was launched in November.
He said the project aims at helping schools across the country especially those in the rural areas through the provision of stationery and furniture.
“When children are well educated the nation becomes secured since the future of every country are the children we have today” he said adding that “parents should do their best to provide the learning materials needed by their wards so as to make teaching and learning easy”.
He advised the pupils to be punctual and obedient so that they would become what they aspire to be in future.
“To our dear children giving you learning materials is not enough without a word of advice and motivation. Amongst you are future doctors, presidents and teachers. It takes tremendous effort, discipline and hard work to become a successful person so I entreat you all to focus on your studies and study hard so that one day you can become like us”, he said.
Mr Tsikata, who is also an author, dedicated his latest book titled: “The master key of wellness” to all teachers in the country and gave free copies each to the teachers of the school.
He also called on religious bodies and individuals to emulate their example since “government cannot do everything alone”.
“Giving is the only true religion, let us all come together and make Ghana a better place”.
Mrs Elsie Mbiah, the Head Teacher of the School, expressed gratitude to the donors for the kind gesture and called on other civil society organisations and philanthropists to come to their aid.
She said the school also needed more classrooms, a computer laboratory, reading books and electricity.
Mr Evans Wettey, the Chief of Small London, expressed his gratitude to Tsi K arts and Sheeba Links for their kind gesture.
