Tuobodo gets new chief

Tuobodom (B/A), June 22, GNA- Mr Stephen Obeng Asiedu, 54, stenographer secretary of Sekyere Dumase Secondary School, has been installed Tuobodomhene and Asomahhene of the Techiman Traditional Area. His stool name is Nana Obeng Ameyaw Barimah II and succeeds Nana Osofo Yaw II, who died last year.

Swearing the oath of allegiance, Nana Ameyaw Barimah II called on the people to bury their differences and unite for the development of the area. He said his installation symbolized peace and love and appealed the other contestants to forget about the past and support him for the progress of the town.

Nana Barimah said: "Since education is a pivot for every nation's progress, an educational fund, to be known as 'Tuobodom Educational Endowment Fund' is to be established to assist needy but brilliant children in the area." He appealed to parents to encourage their children, especially the girls, to take their education seriously And advised the youth to use their time profitably.

Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Krontihene of the town, who also swore oath of allegiance to the new chief, called on all opinion leaders and unit committees members to collaborate efforts towards the development of the area. He also urged the people to undertake income-generating ventures to improve their living conditions.
