Twenty babies born in two health facilities at Christmas

Twenty babies, made up of 8 males and 12 females, were delivered at the Winneba Government Hospital and Kasoa Polyclinic in the Central Region during the Christmas festivities.

Mrs Grace Vivien Binney, Midwifery Officer, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Kasoa Polyclinic, said on Christmas Day two males and seven females were born, while a boy and 3 girls were delivered on Boxing Day.


She said both the mothers and their babies who were in good health had since been discharged.


Mrs Faustina Aglubi, Senior Midwifery Officer at the Winneba Government Hospital said 5 males and 2 females were born on Christmas day while a girl was also born on Boxing Day.

In a related development, a total of four babies, two boys and two girls, were born at the Tikobo Number One and Samenye Health Centres in the Jomoro district of the Western Region on Christmas Day.


Ms Gace Quansah, Midwife at the Tikobo No. 1 Health Centre said one boy was born on December 25, and that the baby and his mother were in good health.


Madam Margaret Ampong, Midwife at the Samenye Health Centre told the GNA that a boy and two girls were born on Christmas Day.
