Twifo Praso, (C/R) Dec. 14, GNA - The Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Assembly is to construct a five billion cedi youth centre towards the development of sports in the District. The project, which is slated to take off soon, is to be funded by the Japanese International Development Agency (JICA).

Mr Yaw Agyeibie-Kessie, the District Chief Executive for the area said this when he inaugurated the reconstituted management team of the Twifo United F/C, a Second Division football club at Twifo Praso. He said the District Assembly has already acquired a site for the project for its implementation. Mr Agyeibei-Kessie said he was hopeful that the provision of the centre would help unearth hidden talents of the youth in various sporting disciplines in the area. The DCE tasked the new management to prepare the Club towards its promotion to the elite division and appealed to the chiefs and people of the area to support its growth.

Mr Agyeibei-Kessie, however, stressed that the success hinged on discipline and exhorted the players to take their training seriously and comport themselves during league matches. The eight-member executive has Mr Ato Amoah as chairman with Rosevelle Edusei and Ekow Mbeah as first vice and second vice chairmen, respectively. Mr Thomas Moore is the secretary, Mr Alex Ofei, treasurer, Mr Paul Owusu Ansah, team manager, Mr Anthony Blankson, assistant team manager and Nana Asah Mensah as patron.
