Two drown in River Fia in Brong Ahafo

Fiaso (B/A), March 17, GNA - The body of Sumailia Dauda, 23, who drowned in River Fia on March 7 has been retrieved. Thirteen-year-old Musah Tahiru, who was rescued from the river, died whilst being taken to the Holy Family Hospital.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr James Osei Kwabena, Assembly Member, said the incident happened when some children went to the river to swim.

He said a 10-year-old pupil named Asana Barichisu could not come out of the deep part of the river so Dauda attempted to rescue him but he drowned. Tahiru also dived into the river to rescue him but also got drowned.
