The bodies of two men, suspected to have been lynched on Thursday night, were on Friday morning found at two separate locations in the Cape Coast Metropolis.

The body of Kwesi Igwe, believed to be 28 years was found at Kotokuraba near the Sonturk Supermarket in a pair of jeans and a dark coloured shirt with a deep cut on his head from which blood oozed whiles the other, yet to be identified but believed to be of the same age was found naked in a gutter at Savoy with bruises on parts of his body.

When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) got to Kotokuraba at 0800 hours, people had gathered at the scene to catch a glimpse of the body with majority of them alleging that the two were thieves whose nemesis had caught up with them.

The Kotokuraba District Police Commander, Police Superintendent Jonathan Lamptey, in an interview with GNA, could however not confirm the allegation but said investigations were ongoing.

He said the bodies, one of which was identified by a relative, had been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy whiles the other is yet to be identified.

He advised residents of Cape Coast to be extra vigilant, especially during the Fetu Afahye celebration and report any suspicious characters to the police, and assured that the police will beef up security and increase patrols during the celebrations.
