Ex Black star player appeals for assistance

Cape Coast, July 16, GNA - A former player of the national team, the Black Stars, Emmanuel Sam has appealed to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to assist him with the necessary financial support to enable him undergo medical treatment at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra.

Mr Sam who made the appeal on Wednesday through the GNA Sports, also appealed to Ebusua Dwarfs and Kumasi Asante Kotoko football clubs, teams that he played for during his hey days to also come to his assistance.

Mr Sam who is now bedridden said the medical authorities say he would need at least five million cedis for his medical treatment.

The former player was called to the Black Stars in 1969 and featured for the national team in a match between the Black Stars and Germany's Under 20 side in 1969, Ghana against Ivory Coast in 1970 and Ghana Vs Liberia in 1974.
