Accra, Mar 06, GNA - The United Nation’s African Institute for Economic Development and Planning, (UN-IDEP), has launched documentary series in Accra dubbed: “Makers and Shapers of African Development".
The episodes of the documentary featured four distinguished Ghanaians who have helped in the positive transformation of the African continent.
They are Professor S.K.B. Asante, Dr Yao Graham, Professor Kwame Addo and Mr Kwame Pianim.
Prof Adebayo Olukoshi, Director of IDEP, said the documentary was to help document the works of the distinguished individuals who have helped in the transformation and development of the African continent.
He commended the four distinguished personalities for setting the pace in the development of the continent, saying it would help inspire other individuals on the continent.
Performing the official launch of the documentary, Prof Esi Sutherland-Addy of the Institute of Language Studies, said the ideas espoused by the distinguished personalities had made the documentary exciting and thought-provoking.
She said the distinguished personalities have shown commitment in helping to develop the continent, and their braveness was worth emulating.
She commended them for their works, and expressed the hope that the documentary series would inspire hope for other people to own and operationalize the development agenda.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Prof S.K.B. Asante commended the organizers, describing the event as very innovative, and which must be sustained.
