Cape Coast, April 12, GNA- Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, Founder and Leader of Kristo Asafo (Christ Reformed Church), on Tuesday reiterated calls on the country's universities to fashion out programmes that would equip students to effectively face the challenges of the modern world. He stated that the educational system should be able to train students to take up the mantle of leadership and move the nation on to the path of technological advancement and research, to salvage it from the current economic quagmire.

Apostle Dr Safo, made the call in a speech read on his behalf when the church presented two polytanks with 5,000 litres capacity and worth 10.55 million cedis to the Valco Hall of the University of Cape Coast .

He expressed the need for the churches to play a key role in contributing to the development of the country, adding that all must support educational institutions.

Apostle Dr Safo said his church deemed it a social responsibility to contribute its widow's mite towards the needs of society to make life worth living for all.

He said the donation was in response to an appeal made to the church to help alleviate the problems students of the hall face during water crisis in the municipality.

Mr Kofi Ohene, Registrar of the University and Miss Mary Safo, acting President of the Hall thanked the church for the kind gesture.
