The Vakpo Senior-High School Old Students Association is constructing a 20-seater toilet facility for the Girl’s Dormitory at the cost of GH?226,000.00.
The project, which is expected to be completed by the end of March next year, is being financed through voluntary contributions and fundraising activities.
Mr Rosevelt Dzormeku, President of the association disclosed this at a cock-tail party in Accra, to raise funds for the project.
He said the association had also renovated the House Master’s Bungalow and provided the school with plastic chairs to enhance effective teaching and learning.
Mr Dzormeku said the association was undertaking the projects as a way of giving back to the school, which made them who they are today.
“It was the school that made us whom we are today and we find it very prudent to support our alma mater’, He said.
Togbega Gbogbolulu V, Paramount Chief of Vakpo Traditional Area said the Girls Bath House project, which was being undertaken by the Traditional Area, would soon be completed.
He said the Vakpo Traditional Area’ Endowment Fund had so far supported 15 students and expressed the hope that more students would benefit from the fund.
Miss Charity Calai, Headmistress of the school, commended the association for their immense contribution towards the development of the school.
She appealed for a sick bay, the fencing of the school and an improved road network.
