Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has called for peaceful succession to the various stools and skins in the country.
He said the kingmakers should ensure that the rightful people are installed to avoid chieftaincy disputes and ensure development in an area.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur made the call when a delegation from the Ejura Traditional Area led Mr Peter Anarfi Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister called on him at the Flagstaff House.
The delegation was there to announce the death of the Ejura Omanhene, Nana Kwaku Sarfo Ababio.
The late Paramount Chief, who passed away on January 6, was born on February 1912 and ascended the stool on 1947. He reigned for 60 years.
During the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) regime he was deposed for three years and later re-instated.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur described the late Ejura Omanhene as peaceful person who served his nation well.
He said the late Paramount Chief ensured that the Ejura Traditional area became the food basket of the country and even though he was deposed, when he came back he was not vindictive.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur called on other chiefs in the country to emulate the sterling qualities of the late Ejura Manhene to help in nation building.
He commended the people of the Ejura for being peaceful and without chieftaincy disputes which tend to forestall development.
Odi Asempa Antwi, Krontihene of the Ejura Traditional Area, said the late Paramount Chief was a peaceful person who welcomed people from all walks of life.
He said the late Paramount Chief would be laid in state on August 7 and buried on August.
