Vice President donates computers to Kayeye

Accra, Aug. 11, GNA - Vice President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday donated two Dell computers and their accessories to the secretariat of Kayeye Association in Accra with a call on them to create a database for their members.

He said the creation of a database for all their members would offer government and other benevolent organizations ample information to identify areas of support to provide them with better living conditions.

"I understand some of your members have good qualification to pursue their education, but had been impeded by poverty and with the provision of more data we shall be able to seek support for such people to go back to school."

The Vice President said the donation was in fulfilment of a promise he made to them a couple of months ago and urged them to stay away from the use of drugs and other social vices that could ruin their lives.

He told them that the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), which had been approved by Parliament would soon receive presidential accent to provide jobs for most people in the northern sector of the country.

"Moving out for greener pasture is a natural and human instinct, and I know that with the implementation of the SADA programme, most of you will stop moving down to the southern sector for some of the jobs you are doing now."

Mr Mohammed Salifu, Leader of the Secretariat, commended the Vice President for the gesture adding that the computers would help them to build an information base for members throughout Accra.

"I believe that there are so many of our members that we cannot access now, but with these computers we will be able to keep every bit of information for the benefit of all authorities."
