The Northern Volta Youth Alliance (NVYA) has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama not to listen to any group of people advocating the appointment of a new Volta Regional Minister from the Northern sector.
A statement issued in Accra on Monday by Jerry Okyere, Secretary of NVYA said: “We believe that this divisive tendency is eating the social and moral fibre of the Region.”
It said it was unfortunate that whilst other regions are thinking of collective interest of their regions, parochial and selfish interest have taken a better part of the elite in the Region.
It called on the President to ignore those pushing for that agenda and appoint whoever he thinks is capable to help execute his better Ghana Agenda in the Region.
The statement said the internal divisive and political undermining in the Region is seriously retarding development and called on the President to help eliminate the canker.
