The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rescued two accident victims and stopped a domestic fire from spreading in two separate operations in the Volta Region on May 13, 2026.
Personnel from the Peki Fire Station were dispatched to Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo, GNFS said, citinewsroom.com reported on May 14, 2026.
The first incident happened along the "Peki–Asikuma Road" involving a SINO tipper truck. Firefighters arrived and pulled the two men trapped in the vehicle to safety.

The cause of the crash is still unclear but GNFS said: "The quick response prevented further harm."
Later that day, the same crew responded to a fire at Asikuma Zongo, where a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters confined and extinguished the blaze before it could spread to nearby structures, averting what could have been a bigger disaster.
The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
GNFS has urged the public to "remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to enable rapid response and protect lives and property."
