Hohoe (V/R), May 18, GNA - The Women Movement of the Hohoe South District of the Church of Pentecost on Tuesday donated assorted items worth three million cedis to the Volta School for the Deaf at Hohoe. The items include loaves of bread, rice, maize, sugar, cooking oil, fruits, washing soaps and packets of pencils.

Presenting the items, Mrs. Rose Ahalivor, Area Head of the movement said the gesture was part of the church's social responsibility to extend " a hand of comfort" to the disadvantaged. She said the special school offered the right platform for such assistance, as some parents normally neglect their children after enrolling them in the school.

Mr Cudjoe D. Dzotepeh, Headmaster of the school thanked the movement for their goodwill, which he said, would go a long way to offset some of the inherent problems of the school. He appealed to individuals and other benevolent organizations to emulate the example of the movement. The group later toured some of the school's facilities and worshiped with the pupils.
