W/R Minister lauds security agencies for combating crime.

Sekondi, Aug. 11 - GNA- Mr. Joseph B. Aidoo, Western Regional Minister has said the complementary roles of the army in ensuring peace and stability was vital in nation building.

He also observed that the cooperation between the military and other security agencies in combating crime and other social vices was commendable and should be sustained.

Mr. Aidoo said these when, Major General Samuel Anum Adotei, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces paid a courtesy call on him at Sekondi on Thursday.

Mr. Aidoo urged the Military High Command to assist the various units of the army to meet their logistic needs, to ensure effectiveness. Major Gen. Adotei said the visit was to formally introduce himself to the officers and men of the army in Takoradi.

He appealed for cooperation to enable him to achieve his vision of more efficiency, alertness and respectability in the Ghana Armed Forces. Major Gen. Adotei stressed that the army would work continually to ensure the socio-economic development of the country. Earlier in the day, he visited the

Second Battalion (2BN) of Infantry at Apremdo, inspected the unit gallery, palm plantation and held a closed-door meeting with the soldiers.
