Students of Wesley Senior High School in Konongo, Ashanti Region, reportedly went on rampage during the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Sunday, September 7, 2025 over strict invigilation.
According to a 3news.com report on September 8, 2025, some candidates attacked teachers for enforcing strict invigilation during the Christian Religious Studies (CRS) examination.
The irate students are said to have launched a verbal attack on the school’s senior housemistress on Sunday night.

Beyond verbal attacks, some students allegedly pelted the senior housemistress’s apartment with stones.
She had reportedly angered the students by preventing cheating during the CRS paper.
The heavy stones penetrated the kitchen, creating a slit in the roof, while the rampaging students also destroyed plants, including cocoyam, maize, cassava, and plantain, in a garden belonging to the senior housemistress.

A teacher confirmed that the students, after completing their exam on Friday, returned to the school on Sunday in their uniforms to carry out the attack.
According to the report, the incident led to some students sustaining injuries and requiring immediate medical attention.
