Techiman (B/A), Dec 2, GNA - Techiman branch of Wamfie Rural Bank, in conjunction with Village Infrastructure Project (VIP) of the Techiman District Assembly, has presented machines worth 40 million cedis to some communities in the district.

The presentation formed part of activities to commemorate the 21st Annual General Meeting of the Bank and its 20th anniversary celebration.

The equipment included a gari-processing machine worth 20 million cedis for Atrensu and Krobo, two maize shellers to Bowohomodeen and Asueyi, while three spraying machines were presented to the Abotare Farmers Association at Ayeasu.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the presentation Mr. Thomas Babeormah, Techiman Branch Manager, said the bank was closely linking up with the VIP in the disbursement of funds and equipment under the project and to ensure that loans or equipment procured under the scheme was paid back to enable others to benefit from the package.

Mr. Babeormah asked the beneficiary communities to make maximum use of the equipment provided and to maintain them well to ensure their longer life span.

The bank had earlier undertaken a clean-up exercise with the Techiman Keep Fit Club during which the de-silted gutters and swept the streets of the town.
