A group of protestors confronted the contractor of a road project around Nzulenzu in the Western Region for doing a shoddy job.
A video of the incident shows the workers busily working on the road as at least two men approached them, bitterly complaining about the work they were doing.
One of the protestors, who was wielding a placard with the inscription “Year of Roads Mpa”, confronted the contractor, chastising him for wasting taxpayers' funds.
“This belongs to you and me; this is our future. Won’t you be happy if you do a good job and 50 to 60 years from now you are passing through and you see the road intact?
“Would you be happy if this was the work of your father? If your father pays money for a road to be constructed and someone does work like this for him, would you be happy?” the man identified as Selorm Attippoe of the #FixtheCountry Movement asked the leader of the workers, who did not utter a word.
The #FixtheCountry member was livid that the road was being constructed without the use of bitumen.
The video showed the workers spreading gravel on the road without applying bitumen as required.
