Water Closet toilet structure commissioned at Esiama

A GH?32,000 water closet toilet structure has been commissioned at Ahunlu, a suburb of Esiama in the Ellembelle district.

The facility, which was constructed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and the District Assembly, is to improve sanitation and sustain environmental conditions in the coastal town.

Commissioning the facility, Mr Buah said the facility forms part of measures to better the lifestyle of the community.

He used the occasion to enumerate major developmental projects the NDC government had executed for the town within 3 years of its rule.

Mr Buah mention the completion of a three unit classroom block, renovation of a police station, tarring of principal streets and extension of electricity and street lights to Esiama.

He said the biggest water project in the Western Region is found in Esiama, with most of the youth employed under the zoil programme.

Mr Buah announced that, government has obtained a $1bn loan from the government of China for the Adoabo gas project with Esiama as a metering station.

He appealed to the people to retain the NDC in power to continue with works that has been initiated to better the lot of Ghanaians.

Mr Daniel K. Eshun, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, said government had built 14 toilet facilities in the district within 3 years, adding that plans were afoot to build teachers quarters to accommodate teachers in the town and asked the people to rally behind the government.

The Chief of Esiama, Nana Kofi Amgbo, lauded government for her numerous social interventions towards the development of the town.

He therefore asked the people to vote for development-oriented government which has the welfare of the people at heart.**
